    A shared passion for travel and functional design aesthetics led two students who met at Hong Kong University to the idea of designing their own backpacks. Both came from family businesses that made handbags, so it was obvious to design their first backpacks in their families' workshops. What initially was just a project for fun has become since 2007 through word of mouth and a good reputation a successful company. Initially represented primarily in Japan – a market with high demands on production standards and quality – Doughnut now sells its products in over 25 countries.
