Bought this bag mainly for backpack travelling use + few hikes on the way. Haven't seen many other options on the market. So far, best bag I have tried for those flexible conditions : easy of use (only few bags can be opened like this), secured for bus travelling and hostels + all options available if you want to go for small/medium hikes. If you are hiking in autonomy though, you might prefer to chose a bigger bag from osprey but note that the 50L capacity of the fairview trek are well optimized.
The big plus is the quality of details that makes it look like a casual bag and not a technical hiking bag ; good to carry at work for instance. Definitely worth the price.
