    Weekend bags are spacious overnight bags. For short trips, where the suitcase would be too big or too bulky, weekend bags are a practical alternative. Inside, there are pockets and zipper compartments for more organization. Some weekend bags have a stretch pleat to increase volume. Weekenders with roll top or folding closure also provide flexible volume adjustment. The classic nylon weekend bag also offers more space if needed. As usual, the zipper of these models consists of a body part where it starts and a stopper where it ends. These two parts are fixed on the sides by snap fasteners or buckles. When they are released, the bag immediately provides more space for your things. A weekend bag with shoe compartment is also flexible: the extra section can be used for a totally different purpose.

    Business travellers make special demands on their luggage. Business overnight bags feature a padded laptop compartment and a trolley strap for attaching to the telescopic handle of a larger suitcase. Important: despite the padded gadget pocket, you should not pack your weekend bag too full, so that the pressure does not damage the device. Many business overnight bags have card slots, pen loops and a keychain in the main compartment. The most secure models feature scan-proof RFID compartments for personal and bank cards. Some brands install ID codes so that your luggage can be traced in the event of loss (or theft).

    What distinguishes a weekend bag for women? The first thing that comes to mind is probably a feminine design or colourful, playful patterns. But many manufacturers offer feminine weekend bags with wheels. These models are equipped with two fixed rollers and a telescopic handle or large pull loop. Weekend bags for women are especially recommended for frequent travellers with heavy luggage. They are a stylish alternative to the ordinary trolley. Of course, weekend bags with wheels are not a woman's privilege: many designs are unisex and men like to buy them. Wheel-less, feminine weekend bags stand out in contrast with them because of their decorative design and bright colours: a removable cosmetic pochette is also common.

    Weekend bags for men

    The classic men's models include overnight bags in a pithy vintage look. They are usually made of the so-called pull-up leather: It quickly develops a beautiful patina. Even more retro flair is radiated by leather models with a metal rail and snap closure on the upper edge. These weekend bags for men are also called doctor's bags.
