    Sports bikes for racing and mountain biking do not have a carrier, so the backpacks are always carried on the back. Models with built-in back protectors replace special protective vests and trump with a lot of storage space for all the necessary equipment. Extra slim-cut backpacks are available for racing cyclists. Minimalist X- and V-shaped backpacks cannot hold much more than one drinking bladder and are appropriately labelled "hydration packs".
