    The name of these models is a promise: Notebook cases contain removable or permanently integrated compartments for notebooks or laptops. Even though the two terms are now used synonymously, there is one difference: notebooks are smaller devices with a diagonal of up to 15 inches. The padded pockets protect the device from shocks, water and dirt and prevent it from lying loose in the bag. Important: the appropriate protection is only guaranteed if the notebook case matches the size of the device. The respective specifications can be found in our product descriptions.

    Size as the most important purchase criterion

    You must stow your mobile PC so that it fits perfectly, otherwise the device may slip back and forth or even slide out. So choose a bag that fits your device, even if in theory a 17" bag will provide enough storage space for a 13" laptop. It's best to measure the depth, overall length and width from your laptop and compare the information with the dimensions of the selected laptop case. In general, a 15" notebook bag is also sufficient for a 15.4" laptop. Take care not to overfill the bag. Otherwise, the device may be subjected to high pressure or the screen may be damaged.     Briefcases

    The classic model features a rectangular landscape format, adjustable shoulder strap and short handle. The leather versions look very elegant: some portable laptop bags don't even show that they were designed for transporting mobile devices. Optics or not, the compartment layout is also relevant. Notebook briefcases offer a document compartment for A4 documents as standard. Other pragmatic features include credit card slots and a key holder. Briefcases with a removable in-case compartment are particularly flexible: by removing it from the laptop compartment you gain extra space for other office utensils. The removable case can also serve as a separate laptop sleeve. In addition to genuine leather, high-quality imitation leather is used for these models.

    Shoulder Bags

    Shoulder bags with a notebook compartment are also A4 format and have an adjustable shoulder strap. Larger models score points with so-called shoulder protection, an adjustable padding on the strap for better wearing comfort. Most notebook shoulder bags have a flap. Due to their shape they are synonymously called messenger bags. Furthermore, notebook messengers are characterized by a large variety of materials: Besides vintage-looking models made of leather and imitation leather, there are sporty designs made of nylon, canvas and tarpaulin. Practical shoulder bags offer enough storage space for further work utensils like pens, smartphone or notebooks. On some models, volume adjustment is possible by means of a zip with a stretch pleat.

    Notebook sleeves

    Those who don't need much additional equipment will be satisfied with a simple portable laptop sleeve. The small laptop cases are ideal for compact devices with a screen size up to 15 inches. The classic Notebook sleeve has no handles or straps and closes with a circumferential zip. You can simply put the case with your notebook under your arm or carry it in another bag. The Basic models have no additional compartments: they only consist of a main compartment. Alternatively, there are models with a pocket on the front or with several outside pockets for smaller items such as headphones, memory sticks etc. More sophisticated models come with pen loops, cable and battery compartments and other extra pockets. The most common materials for notebook covers are leather, polyester and felt.

    Bags for women

    Feminine versions are usually more delicate. The colour palette is also much more diverse: in addition to women's notebook cases in subtle colours such as black or dark blue, there are designs in bright tones and with striking patterns. The most common attribute of a ladies' notebook bag is a removable cosmetic bag. Otherwise, it can serve as a convenient storage place for USBs and headphones.

    Equipment of the travel-friendly models

    Notebook cases with trolley strap can be attached to the telescopic handle of the case. Some designs also offer a laundry compartment, a padded tablet / iPad compartment, a valuables compartment and an address tag. Some models offer practical bottle holders and umbrella holders. Many travel-related notebook cases also have a compartment with RFID scan protection for smart cards. Some models are equipped with a special ID code or the brand's own trekking program so that you can digitally determine the bag's whereabouts - even if it is lost.
